Grief...

Grief has a funny way of resurfacing in your life when everything else is great.
For a long time, you've been running in your life to get things right, from your studies, your career, to your relationships. You’ve been too busy surviving to feel much of anything deeply. But the moment everything starts falling into place and you're no longer chasing… grief finds its way in.
It quietly takes up the space you finally cleared.
The worst part? You wouldn't know it.
One day you'll be content with how life has turned out for you the next minute you're drowning not knowing when you got pushed into the waters.
And, when it comes, it's never just the grief. Everything you've bottled up to focus on your life resurfaces because now you've the space to unpack it. Now you don't have any reasons to pack it up, lock it, and keep it untouched.
You'll be out here thinking, why? Why now? Why, when everything else feels right? Why should it even resurface when everything I've done so far was to not let it resurface? Just why?
You'll keep reassuring yourself that it's just a phase, it'll pass, like it always does.
And yes, it will pass, but do you want it to? Do you really want it to pass only for it to resurface again? Or do you want to confront it, confide in the people you're surrounded by now and finally let go? Finally be free of the pain you've been holding on to for years because it "wasn't the right time"?
I know, you can't get rid of it entirely. That’s not how grief works, but you can take that first step into unburdening yourself. Your life is all set; the only thing holding you back is everything you've left unpacked. Why not just do it?
So take the step.
Slow, baby steps.
That’s all that matters.
Made my day. Beautifully written! 🖤
