Sunshine, No longer Sunshiney...

In almost every book I've read for the past few years, it's always been a grumpy man who shut off his emotions because of a tragic event from his past. Who eventually builds this hard exterior and is rude to everyone and didn't give a shit about what other people thought about him until he meets "her". They write about how he goes from avoiding her because he "feels" something for her to not wanting to let her go, Ever!

She brings out the best in him and makes him turn on his emotions bit by bit. How she brings out his Sunshine side buried under that grumpy mask he put on.

It made me wonder, what about the woman who shut off her emotions? Who was once a sunshine who shined brighter than the sun, saw good in everything and everyone, and spread love to anyone who needed it but acted like they didn't need it? Who was once and for all robbed of her Sunshine? When she was deprived and drained of the one thing she always had with her - Love!

What about the "Sunshine" woman who is no longer sunshiney? Who is going to talk about them? Will they get a man who'll bring out the Sunshine she once buried because it made her seem vulnerable and stupid?

Sunshine No Longer Sunshiney

Why is it always men who are the grumpy ones because of their traumatic experiences and not women who became silent and detached because everyone in her life bit-by-bit drained her of her love and left her hopeless in the end? Does everyone talk about the woman that kept swimming but, what about the woman that was barely floating to just survive?
